March

At the beginning of march the international tourism fair (German: ITB – Internationale Tourismus Börse) takes place at the ICC Messe Berlin.
Märzmusik (Engl: Marchmusic) – a festival for contemporary experimental music takes place in the second half of march.
The museum night is on twice a year – whereat the march date has become a little spring festival.
Theatre improvisation festivalApril
Some time around Easter a number of fairs start in the area of the Kaiser-Wilhelm- Gedächtnis-Kirche, the Alexanderplatz and other parts of the city.
The Britzer Baumblütenfest (Engl: celebration of the blossoming of the trees) is on
the whole month.
During the night of the opera and theatre, numerous Berlin houses show a short profile of their repertoire untill very late at night.May
The annual theatre gathering is a popular forum for small and large ensembles.
The Whitsun weekend is also the weekend of the carnival of cultures which is celabrated with a very colourful procession and several live music stages all over the district Kreuzberg.
The month ends with the long night of science, with sites in the whole of Berlin.

Summer

The special flair of summer is also created by all the open air events, among which are many concerts and and festivals.

June
The international sports celebration in the olympic stadium draws many famous
track and field athletics to Berlin.
The Franco-German fair takes place between the end of June and the beginning of July.
The poetry festival Berlin ist he lagest of ist kind in Europe.
At midsummers day, the 21st of June, Berlin celebrates the Fête da la musique, with free live bands and stages in the entire city.
At the end of July the Christopher street day is celebrated especially in the Schöneberg, where the homosexual scene is concentrated since the 80s.

July
The classic open air brings classical concerts and opera to the city centre where the most beautiful concert location surely ist the Gendarmenmarkt.
Between July and the end of August the concert summer is on in the English garden part oft he Tiergarten.
The Bread&Butter fashion fair is a leading Street- and Urbanwear fair on an international level. It is taking place in the former airport Tempelhof at the beginning of July.
Also at the beginning of the month a lot of international acts play concerts at the Wuhlheide Open-Air rock festival in Köpenick.

August
The German-American fair is on from the end of July untill the beginning of August.
The Jewish culture days are celebrated with concerts, readings and exhibitions all over the city.

Fall

September
The IFA is a huge fair for consumer electronics. It shows the latest developents in the multi media and high tech sector at the ICC (international congress centre).
The Pyronale, a night of firework at ist best takes place on the Maifeld, a huge site behind the Olympic stadium.
Popkomm is an international music trade show for professionals. Since 2003 it is set in Berlin, in 2011 as a part of the Berlin Music Week.
The Berlin marathon is a meeting for international long distance stars and tenthousands of running fans.

October
During the festival of lights famous Berlin buidings and monuments are costly illuminated.
The art forum Berlin is an international art fair for contemporary art, visited by gatherers from all over Europe.

November
The renowned Jazz festival is gaining popularity each year since ist start in 1964.
Play time Europe would be the translation of Spielzeit Europa, a festival of avantgarde productions in playwright, dance-theatre and balley, hosted by the Haus der Berliner Festspiele.

Winter

December
The week before Chrsitmas the Chrsitmas market season starts in Berlin. They vary between a fairground athmosphere at Alexanderplatz and a very romantic version at Gendarmenmarkt.
The 31. Is celebrated with many public parties at hotels, restaurants and clubs, not to forget the huge party at the Brandenburger Tor.

January
The run at newyears starts at the Barndenburger Tor and ends there after ist participants have been taking a turn along Unter den Linden up to the Berlin Dome. It is a gathering of all brave runners who do not fear the cold Berlin winter.
The six day race draws cycling professionals and their fans tot he Velodrom.
The green week in one oft he largest agricultural fairs worldwide.

February
The transmediale festival despicts electronic music and art and is hosted by the house of cultures.
The Berlinale ist the Berlin movie festival traditionally taking place in the third week of feburary and showing new works tot he jury.
